Since 2005, the WEE CABIN Company has been building craftsman timber-frame cabins and other structures in the northern landscape of Ely, Minnesota. We build for people who want to live in the woods, close to nature seeking a simpler lifestyle. Our structures are all built with care, attention to details and made to last for generations.
The original focus when we started this business, was to build small cabins in remote locations around the Ely area. We’ve since expanded to larger family-sized cabins for year round living and associated structures creating what we affectionately call WEE CABIN Hamlets.
The WEE CABIN Company is a licensed and insured Residential Building Contractor in the state of Minnesota. We design and custom build structures to satisfy your wants, needs, and budget. We pride ourselves on our strong academic programs, the athletic experiences we offer, our many diverse student clubs, and our friendly and helpful staff and faculty.
Our campus serves about 700 students – 600 on campus and the rest online or at other sites. Our student body comprises about 68 % male and 32 % female, with most students attending full-time. Most of our students are from the Midwest, yet we also have international students – this year, from countries as far away as Australia and Japan.
Minnesota North Vermilion costs are affordable, and we provide a living experience right on campus. You may prefer to live in the residence hall and not have to go outside during the winter months, or you may prefer to have a brisk wake-up call as you walk to classes from your Timber Ridge or college apartment. Boundary Waters Connect fosters sustainable wilderness edge communities where you can live, work, and play; a program of Northeastern Minnesotans for Wilderness.
Boundary Waters Connect sponsors Tuesday Group, a gathering that takes place on Tuesdays at noon at the Grand Ely Lodge in Ely, Minnesota. We provide a space for people to be in the community and learn something new, featuring speakers and topics relevant to northeastern Minnesota. Presentations are available to view live via Zoom, and recordings will be posted on our YouTube channel.
Ely Wheel Park is open daily to riders with skateboards, scooters, inline skates and BMX bikes. The park combines traditional skating features such as concrete ramps, stairs and a grind box with wooden half pipe and quarter pipe elements.
The mission of the Ely Wheel Park is to provide a healthy alternative to traditional sports where students can explore their own creative abilities, as well as their athletic skills in a non-competitive environment, and within a community sanctioned space managed by the Ely Rec Center.
