Happy Days is a family cooperative preschool, created more than 40 years ago by a group of parents who realized the importance of early childhood education in the community. We are licensed by the Minnesota Department of Human Services.
The Wabbit is good place to grab an adult beverage after your trip into the Boundary Waters or to simply get off the beaten path. The bar is known for their friendly bar tenders, laid back atmosphere, 50 cent pool, and plenty of choices on the drink menu.
The Ely License Bureau serves Ely by providing registration, renewal, transfer and other services for all types of vehicles, including automobiles, trailers, boats, ATVs, and snowmobiles. In addition the Ely License Bureau processes hunting and fishing licenses.
The mission of the Ely Area Food Shelf is to provide a resource for people living in Ely, Minnesota, and the surrounding communities who have run out of options to alleviate hunger.
The food shelf is located at 15 West Conan Street and is open on the third Wednesday of each month from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
People who need assistance can shop between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
Home delivery is available for people who are homebound and have no other options for receiving food, such as having a friend or relative shop for them. A volunteer will call to help you “shop by phone” and your food will be delivered. Call (218) 235-8527 to register for this program.

Hidden Valley and Hidden Valley Extension Ski Trails provide a machine groomed system of trails close to the town of Ely. The 15 km of trails vary in difficulty from easy to advanced. Hidden Valley Trails are connected to ‘Hidden Valley Extension’ on the eastern edge and to the Trezona Trail on the west. Trails are groomed for both skate skiing and classic skiing, with some open only to classic. Dogs are not allowed.
The Ely Municipal Airport (ELO) is a publicly owned airport located 4 miles south of downtown Ely, Minnesota. The airport has approximately 21 flight operations a day.
Administrative control of the airport is the responsibility of a seven member Airport Commission. The airport is staffed by Airport Manager, Jim Preblich.

Our operation is twofold: we are a boat and motor fishing lodge on Lac La Croix and we also offer canoe trips into Minnesota’s BWCAW and Ontario’s QUETICO PROVINCIAL PARK. If you don’t see a package that suits your needs, you can rest assured we will provide one for you.
