Ely Wheel Park is open daily to riders with skateboards, scooters, inline skates and BMX bikes. The park combines traditional skating features such as concrete ramps, stairs and a grind box with wooden half pipe and quarter pipe elements.
The mission of the Ely Wheel Park is to provide a healthy alternative to traditional sports where students can explore their own creative abilities, as well as their athletic skills in a non-competitive environment, and within a community sanctioned space managed by the Ely Rec Center.

At Voyageur Outward Bound School we believe in the potential of every individual. We believe when people discover strength of character, an aptitude for leadership and a desire to serve, it has a positive impact on their lives and the lives of those around them. And that discovery has the power to make the world a better place. Outward Bound changes lives through challenge and discovery. We offer life-changing expeditions for everyone, regardless of social or economic status, race or gender, from struggling teens, to first generation urban youth, adults in transition or veterans integrating back into life outside of active duty.
For over 50 years, we have been changing lives by using the wilderness as a classroom to provide unparalleled opportunities for personal growth, self-reliance, confidence, teamwork and compassion.
Our full portfolio of programs ranges from part-day programming to wilderness programs lasting a full semester. Canoeing, camping, rock climbing, backpacking, skiing, snowshoeing, dog-sledding and urban adventure programs serve as the educational vehicle for social and emotional learning and character development. In all of VOBS programs, tight-knit groups are led through sequenced challenges designed to discover and improve skills such as emotion management, teamwork, initiative, problem solving, responsibility and empathy. This learning occurs for both the individual and the group. Voyageur Outward Bound School students experience the benefit of personal challenge and the positive effects of nature as they build critical life skills.
Since 2005, the WEE CABIN Company has been building craftsman timber-frame cabins and other structures in the northern landscape of Ely, Minnesota. We build for people who want to live in the woods, close to nature seeking a simpler lifestyle. Our structures are all built with care, attention to details and made to last for generations.
The original focus when we started this business, was to build small cabins in remote locations around the Ely area. We’ve since expanded to larger family-sized cabins for year round living and associated structures creating what we affectionately call WEE CABIN Hamlets.
The WEE CABIN Company is a licensed and insured Residential Building Contractor in the state of Minnesota. We design and custom build structures to satisfy your wants, needs, and budget. We will work with you to understand what size structure will best suit your lifestyle and family size. We can develop the plan, or cooperate with your architect.

The International Wolf Center advances the survival of wolf populations by teaching about wolves, their relationship to wildlands and the human role in their future.
Admission includes all Daily Programs, film presentations in our theater, the Discover Wolves!, Little Wolf, and Special Exhibits, and, of course, our live ambassador wolves.
The International Wolf Center envisions a world in which populations of wolves thrive well distributed in many parts of their native range. A global system of designated wildlands supports abundant habitat and prey for wolves and other large carnivores. The Center provides useful scientific information and learning opportunities to diverse individuals and groups and supports well-informed dialogue about management of wolfÂhuman conflict. As a result, humans adopt an attitude of respect toward wolves. As informed participants, humans create policy and act in support of ecological sustainability, which includes the survival of wolf populations. In day-to-day life, humans accept coexistence with wolves.
The International Wolf Center is wheelchair accessible. Service animals are permitted within the public areas of our building. Emotional support animals are not allowed. A sign language interpreter can be made available if arrangements are made ahead of time by calling (218) 365-4695 or by emailing programs@wolf.org.
